Here are two great activities to work on your observation skills, line work, and have some fun (yes they’re supposed to end up weird looking – that’s the beauty!). 

In both videos, Anna (the artist) takes us through her process of drawing contour portraits, but you could use these contour styles with anything you are drawing from observation. It works well with still life (objects) as well as humans.
